Do you file share?
So I was wondering what to write on this aging blog today. P2P application Acquisition was recently added to my dock by a friend, and as a result I began to think about file sharing. Is it right or wrong? Does it all depend on how you use it? And perhaps most of all, is it fair that your internet service provider has the potential to spy on your downloading activities? So my question for today is — do you file share? And if so, with what application? What protocol? Do you like Bittorrent, or perhaps a more direct approach with programs such as Limewire or Acquisition. And if you don’t file share, what’s your take on this issue?Call me up in the comments and we’ll have a rocking discussion.

Lets see here. I view file sharing as both a good and a bad thing to be doing. I myself don’t fileshare – but I used to, that is, before I got my iPod. I used to use KaZaA, and even tried Limewire to get all my music and mainly burned it to CD’s. It was what everyone was doing at the time – and that was about 9 years ago. lol. Makes me feel old.
Today, I use iTunes for managing my music and even purchase music from the store. No longer do I fileshare. I barely use my iPod… as I just like listening to music on my PC and or in my car.
I guess with all that rambling… my views is: If you fileshare you fileshare. If you don’t fileshare you don’t fileshare. Just watch your back as you never know for sure what you really are getting via filesharing. :-p
PS: If this doesn’t make any sense its prolly because its like 11:00 at night and I am tired.

File sharing is such a controversial issue. When is it okay to file share? Is it ever okay? Or is it one’s movements against money hungry corporations that are already making enough money as it is. The question is, who’s the real pirate?

I always fileshare one or two songs from an album before i buy it on itunes. The 30-second preview just isn’t enough. My stand on the whole thing is that fileshare isn’t horriblay evil, but its clearly not good. anyway, it’s just stupid. You’ll never fail to get a virus. I only fileshare on someone else’s computer, and just to be safe i never download any songs that are long enough to have filesizes that may have virus’s. If your downloading a 2-minute song that takes up 5000mb of memory, you’re getting a rfreakng virus.
