Overview MacBook Air

So, here it is — the rumoured MacBook Air. It’s super thin, super sexy, and super expensive. That being said, I don’t see the point of buying one considering its steep cost. It has performance similar to the MacBook Pro for a similar price, but the MacBook Air only has one USB port, no Firewire ports, and no internal disk drive. Bleh, I say!Although, the wireless CD reading stuff is an awesome idea. Too bad it’s far too reliant on other machines. So what’re your thoughts?

It’s not a bad idea and all. I would be worrying about breaking it because of its thin-ness. lol

I really think that maybe they could have include some more USB ports and a firewire port, as well as a slot loading drive… of course that would be thin… but if it had all that I would say it would be worth the price. I honestly think this is taking a step backwards by losing ports and drives.

I dig it and it is going to sell…but a bit much, IMHO. The cheap one doesn’t come with a solid state drive either (unless you want to fork over $999 extra) it comes with a PATA drive.

I’m actually kind of glad they didn’t “wow” the way they have in the past, normally MW means a fight with my wallet to keep money in, this time all I’m looking at possibly getting is an Apple TV, especially since 1) it is fairly easy to hack to allow you to use an external drive, 2) it no longer requires a computer to be on and steaming to it, and 3) you can now get them for under $200 in the refurb store.

I really wish they just made it a *but* thicker to get those ports in. I don’t care much for the disk drive, though. Honestly, I never use one.

Yeah, but it would have been cool to see the slot loading drive make it in with a bit more thickness for that and those ports too. :)
